Most helicopter pilots learn to fly in piston helicopters. The Robinson and Schweizer helicopters are light and responsive, which makes them great training aircraft. Many pilots are content to achieve private pilot status but want to continue to learn and master flying other aircraft. Some pilots continue training beyond a private license and ultimately receive their commercial license. In either case, receiving training in a turbine helicopter is the next step in the learning process.
